The current consolidation of telemedicine as a mode for delivering medical and healthcare services has been said to give rise to significant legal challenges. This study examines the legal principles governing the provision of medical services at a distance, together with an analysis of the particular features inherent to this type of care and the consequent adjustments required by the fragmented regulatory framework presently in force. In particular, it addresses whether these specific features necessitate a differentiated standard of professional diligence from that applied to traditional inperson medical and healthcare practice.
