Abstract

This paper presents some of the international background and experiences leading up to the creation of the Spain´s Single Registry of Leases, as well as an analysis of its nature and the justification for its maintenance by registrars. It analyzes various elements subject to registry revision in the procedure for assigning registration numbers and attempts to demonstrate the value of the Land Registry as an effective instrument of collaboration with the competent authorities, contributing to the preservation of habitable space and thus to the formation of the right to the city.
