Abstract

This paper analyzes the changes introduced by the Right to Housing Act in residential leases, more than two years after its entry into force, covering its implementation to date. After a brief reference to the regime applicable to lease agreements entered into prior to the entry into force of said act, the most relevant changes introduced are examined, which are (i) the figure of the large owners of residential real estate, (ii) measures to contain rent increases, (iii) new contract extensions, and (iv) modifications to the eviction procedure. Finally, as conclusions, a brief assessment of the new legal framework is made.
